Ingredients:
For Ragda:
- 1 cup whole yellow peas/whole green peas soaked overnight
- 2 onions chopped
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1tsp cummin seeds
- 1tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- pinch of asafoetida(hing)
- 2 tsp green chillies paste
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp cummin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp peanut powder or crushed peanuts
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- oil
- salt to taste
- 4 boiled potatoes mashed
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp green chillies paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 slices of bread dipped in water and drained
- Few coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- Coriander chutney,Tamarind Chutney
- Onion chopped
- Sev
- Few Coriander Leaves
Method:
For Ragda:
- Pressure cook the soaked peas adding 2 cups water upto 3 whistles.
- Take oil in a pan.When the oil becomes hot add mustard seeds,cummin seeds,sesame seeds and asafoetida.
- When they start spluttering add turmeric powder,peanut powder,ginger-garlic paste,green chillies paste.Saute for a 1-2 mins and add chopped onions.
- When the onions become translucent add chopped tomatoes.Saute for 3-4 mins.
- Add coriander powder and cummin powder.
- Now add the boiled peas alongwith the water.
- Add salt and adjust the consistency of the ragda so that it is not too thick not too watery.
- Let it boil for 5-6 minutes and then remove from the flame.
- In a bowl take the mashed potatoes.
- Add ginger-garlic paste,green chillies paste,salt,turmeric powder,bread slices,coriander leaves.
- Mix all together and knead into a dough.
- Take small portion of dough and make a small ,flat ,round pattice.
- Similarly make all pattice.
- On a tava or a flat bottom pan take oil and shallow fry these pattice.
- Fry them till they turn golden brown on both sides.
For Serving:
- Take serving plate,put 2 pattice.
- Pour Ragda over the pattice.
- Spread little tamarind chutney and coriander chutney over it.
- Sprinkle chopped onions,sev,coriander leaves over it.
