Ingredients:
2 cup maida(all purpose flour)
1 cup sugar(castor sugar/pithi sakhar preferable)
1 cup butter(unsalted)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
cocoa powder,vanilla essence,cardomom(optional)
Method:
- In a bowl,mix soft butter and sugar and beat for 10-15 minutes until light and fluffy.The more you beat the batter ,the more fluffy will be the nankatais.
- In another bowl,mix maida,baking powder,baking soda and vanilla essence.
- Now add flour mix to butter sugar mixture and knead it properly into a dough.
- Make small balls of the dough and press each ball to make the size of a cookie.
- Put Nankatai on a lightly greased baking tray and bake at 150 degrees celsius for about 15 minutes or until Nankatai are lightly gold brown.
- After they are lightly golden brown remove the baking tray from the oven. Let the Nankatais cool down for 10 minutes before taking them off the baking tray.
- To make schoko cookies mix cocoa powder in step 2.
